Embarking on any outdoor adventure activity requires sufficient knowledge and skill to ensure a safe journey. The experienced guides of Powell River Sea Kayak go out of their way to ensure a safe trip. Living and paddling in this area for many years has provided a strong knowledge of weather patterns, currents and escape routes.  Safety is a priority! In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, Powell River Sea Kayak is prepared to deal effectively and efficiently with the situation. This may mean a quick assisted rescue or the use of training in advanced wilderness first-aid. Powell River Sea Kayak provides all the necessary safety equipment including VHF radios, flares, tow-ropes, rescue equipment, first-aid supplies and all the essentials. Our guides take no undue risks and you can expect a safe unforgettable adventure. Remember, most of the areas we paddle in have water temperatures of up to 72F. In the event of an unplanned wet-exit, instead of throwing you the safety line, we may just throw you the snorkelling gear!
Expect the best! We use high quality fiberglass touring sea kayaks by Current Designs, Nimbus and Seaward. Our fleet is very well maintained and we carry a large selection of singles and doubles to suit any individuals size and ability. Our accessory equipment comes from reputable companies such as Aquabound, Feathercraft, MSR, Peak 1, Serratus, and Cascade Designs. The guides of Powell River Sea Kayak appreciate and understand quality and this is shown in all that we use.
 Food
Expect mouthwatering creations. We include many homemade treats such as our own smoked salmon, anti-pasto, salsas and organic vegetables from our own garden. After the first feast, you will be eagerly anticipating the delicious delicacies offered in the next meal. The areas we tour offer an abundance of seafoods which are always part of the experience. Our guides appreciate the finer details - from freshly brewed coffee (locally roasted beans) in the morning to a nice glass of aged wine with the appetizers.
Relaxation and Learning
Let our experienced and knowledgeable guides take care of the details while you absorb the spectacular nature of BC'c west coast. The areas we paddle to are teeming with intriguing history, geology, flora, fauna, culture and all the natural wonders that make a west coast sea kayaking experience memorable. We live here and we know it well. Our trips allow for spontaneous adventure - you never know when you will be surrounded by a school of Porpoises! We choose our camping areas carefully so as to provide a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, typical of BC's west coast. Our trips cater to the individual. As there are a multitude of interests there are a multitude of interesting activities to capture one's imagination. This spectacular area on the Sunshine Coast offers such things as lush rainforests, towering Old Growth Trees, tropical-like islands, colorful marine gardens, glaciated mountains, good fishing, hidden lakes, and marine life with a large variety of seabirds. Expect a captivating and relaxing adventure!

We cater to a diverse group of guests. Families, independent travellers, couples - all are welcome. No experience is necessary. Our experienced guides are glad to offer helpful advice to those looking to improve their sea kayaking skills.
