Over the last 10+ years, we have continued to raise the bar when it comes to the high quality of our kayaks and equipment. In more recent years, our guests have raved about this high quality. In fact, we have far exceeded both their previous experiences and their expectations. For this reason, several of our tour guests have kindly suggested we do a better job communicating our use of the highest quality kayaks and gear. So here we go. Location - a distinguishing factor!
Our location at Desolation Sound Marine Park, in itself, is perhaps not a "quality factor"; however, this location is directly related to our ability to provide quality. Granted, some may consider the private solitude and engaging history of this site as a mark of quality. However, we are referring to our proximity to Desolation Sound and how this affords a luxury which no other company can match. The following are a couple of points regarding our location as a distinguishing factor:
- Overhead costs are lower
For Powell River Sea Kayak Ltd., we have no additional transportation costs, time costs and launchsite fees associated with accessing Desolation Sound Marine Park. When you arrive at our office, you have arrived at the launchsite. This significant cost savings does not end up in our pocket. We choose to shift this savings into purchasing high-end kayaks and equipment on a continual basis.
- Knowledge
We live here year-round - this destination is our specialty - and it shows! We believe knowledge provides quality. Living here year-round has provided us with a unique knowledge of the area: routes, viewscapes, campsites, marine wildlife "hotspots," history, etc.
